Books:
I don't think any of our books are really first editions or valuable or anything. Very few of them are even close to what you would call pristine. We do try to look after them but they get read - generally a lot. As a result they aren't really going to fetch any money on their own merit, so are pretty much there for the asking. I just hate throwing them away.
The pics are generally of the books themselves, not some catalogue pic, so you can get an idea of how dog-eared or otherwise they are.
We like Gerald Durell's writing a lot and friends and relatives keep an eye out for his books for us. These are duplicates so we'd like to pass them on.

Marc Olden's stuff tends to be martial arts related, but slightly too macabre for my taste. Bloody, violent and with little of spiritual meaning. I have had it for many years and read it several times, so obviously I enjoyed it on some level, but I don't think I would want to read it again now.

I like Robert Ludlum's stuff very much - plays right into my paranoid conspiracy theories. However, there is a tendency to feel you've read it before whenever you pick up one of his books (as undoubtedly I have). Not exactly 'read one and you've read them all', but certainly 2 or 3 should cover it. However, I've enjoyed reading 20 different versions of how the nazis didn't go away and are secretly still trying to take over the world and how one lone guy can stop them all, but now ready to pass them on.
Aquitaine Progression - Robert Ludlum |
Holcroft Covenant - Robert Ludlum |
The Icarus Agenda - Robert Ludlum |
The Rhinemann Exchange - Robert Ludlum |
I find Ben Elton very funny, and his comedy with an ecological/political message is right up my street. The books are good, but I only needed to read them once or twice.
